Two concerts from Columbia get the month started. The USC Symphony Orchestra welcomes a guest conductor and soloist in a November 2013 program, while this week's episode also features some Slavic Tchaikovsky from a January 2014 concert. 

Week of October 19, 2014

This concert program comes from the Palmetto State, but it transports us to Vienna for music in the great Classical and Romantic tradition of that city.

Week of October 26, 2014

This edition of the program is designed with All Saints Day commemorations in mind. It features the beautiful 20th century Requiem by Maurice Duruflé and a varied choral program by Greensboro’s acclaimed Bel Canto Company.

Week of September 28, 2014

The Stevens Center in downtown Winston-Salem hosted the Winston-Salem Symphony for the performance of two 20th century works in two distinct styles: Romantic and Impressionistic.

This edition of the program opens with Luciano Berio’s transcription of an evocative Boccherini chamber work and continues with familiar works by Manuel de Falla and Maurice Ravel.
