"A well-crafted score provides the bridge between the director's vision on the screen and each member of the audience," film music writer Brian Satterwhite told fortissimo Magazine in 2002. This prodigious composer has certainly built many a bridge over his decade-long career. Satterwhite has written scores for over ninety short and feature films, including Switch (2011), The Children's War (2008), and the IMAXTM feature Ride around the World (2006). In honor of his beautiful compositions, he has won eleven Gold Medals for Excellence and three Silver Medals from the Park City Film Music Festival; an Indie Intertube Award for Best Score; and a bronze Telly Award. In addition to composing, Satterwhite is also a film music journalist; he writes for several major websites, including his own personal blog, and is a member of the International Film Music Critics Association.
Satterwhite currently lives with his wife and two sons in Austin, TX, where he produces and hosts the local radio show Film Score Focus on 89.5 KMFA. He earned a dual degree in Film Scoring and Composition from the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
